It's been a while... + Autumn Ombre Acrylic Nails

What's up nail fiends? It's been such a long time since I sat down to write a blog post. Life definitely got crap the last year but today I'm finally back and will be posting more often. I just wanted to say thank you for sticking around and I can't wait to share with you guys my passion for nails again.

So... speaking of nails, today I'm sharing with you my first Autumn nail set. I must admit I was freaking proud of this set. So let's begin..

After natural nail prep.

So of course the start of any nail design starts with nail prep. In the last few months I've been trying different products to achieve this and I finally feel like I have found a way that definitely minimises lifting and let's face it there's nothing worse. So once I have pushed back the cuticle, removed dead skin, trimmed & filed its time for the acrylic base. With extensions you of course have sculpting and tips to choose from. For the purposes of this set i sculpted.

Sculpted acrylic base.

So you know I'd never leave you guys hanging. You can check out my full prep and acrylic base tutorial right here. Instead of me blabbing forever I filmed the process and talk you guys through my dry manicure routine and share my must have products. Check it out below.

Now that we have our base covered, can we talk about how excited I am for Autumn nail art? Nothing is prettier than the colours of fall. Bonus it's closer to Halloween (insert major happy dance). It's honestly by far my favourite season simply because you can definitely broaden your skills and do funky nails and no one cares.

So onto my first Autumn acrylic set. I'll start this by saying I've only been training in acrylic nails professionally for around 5 months. I'm absolutely loving it. With that said this set was by far my favourite one I've done yet.

Mint Ombre Acrylic Nails

For this set I used the gorgeous Hepburn by Ink London Nails, it's the most beautiful tiffany mint with a subtle shimmer. Needless to say I freaking adore it. Then we have Sydney a beautiful cover powder by Ink with these 2 I did ombre nails on 2 fingers and french tips on 2 fingers. Then for the 4d roses I used a few Glitterbels acrylic powders and Swarovski  Crystals to make a crystal cluster. I got those products from a recent Bluestreak Crystals haul  which will be up on my channel soon. Then I bedazzled the nails with a few glitters from smileys glitter store. Here's the tutorial for this set. In this video I show you everything from start to finish.

So my friends if you've stayed to the end I appreciate it and I really hope you enjoyed today's post. Definitely stay tuned for upcoming posts as I delve back into the world of blogging.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Valentine's day nails on the sly 😜

Easy 3d Nail Art

Hello my lovely friends, welcome back to my blog. Hopefully you guys had an awesome weekend? If I'm being honest mines was 79% spent at home. The weather is crap and if my lil fur babies didn't need some exercise and a tinkle, my lazy ass would be in my pjs all weekend. It may not be a suprise considering this is a nail blog ;) but today I'm sharing with you a really easy design. With Valentine's day coming up i thought I'd go for something on that spectrum.

For this look I went for a laid back mani. If I'm being honest reds & pinks aren't my favourite so I'm all for anti valentines and a bit bad ass nails.

So for this look I picked the most obnoxious red in my collection. My awesome sister got me this beaut for Christmas. It's Dior Trafalgar. I have a few issues with the formula as it's really squishy and floods my cuticles but the colour is so vibrant and in your face, that I'm in love. I then added a border of dots for a studded look.

Moving on to the bling, I bought these gorgeous bow dangle charm from Nail Kandy Charms. For my base I started with 2 coats of Mia Laurens sand storm. Then using a black polish I added stripes and a fast dry topcoat. Then attached the charm to the nail using nail glue.

Finally the pinky is just a black base with gold foil. Simple yet I really think it gives various designs a bit dimension. For this look I finished with a glossy topcoat because the matte dulled the red. Probably not everyone's cup of tea for v day but I love how it turned out. It's a design that can be worn any time of the year but still has that right amount of what you need for that big Valentine's date. Here's a quick look at how I did these nails.

As always guys I really hope you enjoyed today's post. Keep an eye out for more upcoming Valentine's day nails. Thank you for stopping by.
See you next time.

Rose Gold & Midnight Blue Nails using tattoos..

Easy 10 Minute Mani...

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog . Today I have another nail design to share with you. This time it's so easy your kid could ace it with their eyes closed . That's my favourite thing about nail art, finding cool ways to achieve awesome designs everyone can do. So no matter if your just starting out these nails are going to be perfect for you.

Best bit? They require the least amount of products to complete. For my base colour I went with the seriously gorgeous cosmos by picture polish. It's a really dark blue jelly base with tiny microglitter which gives the polish the perfect amount of pizzazz.

For the nail art I used the tattoos I received in my essence advent calendar. Which was a gift from Natalie in our Christmas gift swap. They were a mix of rose gold and black tattoos with rose gold being the most. I just loved the various images so I opted for a bit of a mix and match.
After cutting out my chosen tattoos I pressed them directly onto the dry base polish. Then holding a wet sponge onto the nail for 10-15 seconds until the tattoo adhered to the nail.
Finally I cleaned up and added a good thick layer of fast dry topcoat to seal in my design.

I really loved how this one turned out. I also took colour inspiration from my really awesome housecoat so this one had a strange inspiration but I think it worked out fab. What do you guys think?
Here's a quick tutorial on these nails . Totally self explanatory but I had fun none the less .

So that's all for this post guys and as always thank you for stopping by. I really hope you enjoyed today's post. Remember if you have any recommendations let me know below.

See you next time .

Middle Eastern Inspired Nail Art: ft What's up Nails

Hi lovelies, hope all is well in your world? Mine's is going well, I'm finally getting my neck looked at by a physio. Fingers crossed they get a plan together to combat the pain. It sure would be appreciated to finally get back into pain free days.
 So onto cherrier things....

Today I'm sharing with you a lil design I did recently. I got the gorgeous what's up nails B001 middle eastern vibes plate in a cheeky haul from nail artisan. So I knew I wanted to go glam but still stick to a traditional mani.

I choose 2 of my favourite images from the plate, the princess/queen image and the hieroglyphs. I must admit I love all things history and back in the day Egyptian history was one that most intrigued me. So this mani was a total blast.

I started by choosing a polish that sort of reminded me of papyrus. It's celestial going to the beach, a beautiful cream polish with gold flakes and microglitter. It has that antique look to it so it was perfect for this. Using that, i painted the pointer & mindle finger with that. Then for the ring finger i picked black because i wanted the focus to be soley on the bling kinda like Cleopatras hair and head piece. Then i kept the pinky simple by using the light gold chrome pigment by indigo nails.

For the bling I used a burnt gold charm and surrounded it with gold studs.

As for the details I used born pretty store flakes to add an antique look to the nail. I then made a decal which I lined with gold polish and attached the sticker to the middle finger. I did the same with the pointer finger. Colouring in the decal with blues, golds, teal & rose gold. For a 3d look I added gold studs to her ears and a swarovski ab crystal to her head piece.

I must admit I loved the end results. What do you guys think?
If your interested check out the full tutorial on my YouTube channel.

So guys as always thanks for stopping by. I really hope you enjoyed today's post.
See you next time.

Quick nail prep for better application of nail polish

Easy Nail Prep Routine.

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog. Hopefully by now your life has calmed down after the holidays? Boy am I sad to see it go but ever so thankful that it's over, strange how exhausting it can all be right?

Well today's post is all about nail prep. I know, bores me to but I cannot stress how important proper prep is. Especially working with gels, but even regular polish requires a good foundation to get maximum adhesion of your chosen polish.
When I begin prepping my nails I start with completely bare nails and clean hands. I'd also advise you clean your tools before you start. That way the whole workspace, tools and of course you are clean and ready.

As for tools, you can see mines is pretty basic. Nail Prep isn't nail care so while the tools are similar the end is very different. For successful nail prep is all about making sure you've got a flawless base. So I begin by applying a balm to protect my skin from the cuticle remover. This step ensures that your skin doesn't dry out. Then I push back the cuticle with my favourite burbig tool. Again you don't need to go crazy at this step.

Then the next tool I use is a square headed cuticle pusher. This I use to remove any cuticle from the nail plate. This step is essential to stop any lifting. That skin is not easy to see but removing it only requires gentle push upwards towards the cuticle.

Now I m file with a glass file. I don't need much because I'm growing mines. Once that's done, I wash my hands and use a hand scrub to remove any excess dry skin.
To add some protection to the nail I'll apply a nail strengthener or a good basecoat. The last step is to add moisture back into the skin and nails. For this I've been using the matte cuticle balm and royal oil by baroness x. These 2 products have literally changed my nail game. They work so well and are made to your taste. I picked peppermint and it's honestly a blast doing my nails everytime, they smell epic.

Since I've been healing my nails from onycholysis this is the longest they have been. I truly believe that taking the time to treat them and do the correct steps has been a god send for me. If like me you guys struggle from lifting, chipping after a day, nails that look uneven, then these few steps once a week can give your nails a bit tlc but will also help get the best of whatever you put on top.

I hope you enjoyed a look at my prep routine. As always thanks for stopping by.

See you next time,

Uberchic Beauty collection 22 swatches & review

Uberchic Beauty collection 22.

Hi lovelies, welcome back to my blog. First off Happy New year. I hope you had a fabulous time. We hosted a hogmony dinner at my house. Gotta admit once I ate dinner I crashed by 5pm. Cheap date huh? So now that the madness is over I thought it was time to finally get back into it. So starting off the new year I'm sharing with you swatches and my thoughts on the Uberchic stamping plate collection 22. I had this on my list to Santa and and was overjoyed to see it in my stocking.

As always with uberchic the collections consist of 3 stamping plates jam packed with images for every occasion and to suit every taste. I love that the images are big enough for longer nails but not to overpowering for shorter nails.

Pic courtesy of uc.

The plate size is 9.5cm x 14.5cm with most of the larger images all measuring 17 x 21mm. The collection is full with layering images which really give you the blue print for lots of designs. These plates are available direct from the Uberchic site or from their various stockists. As I'm in the UK I get my uc plates from Nail-Artisan. The collections are very reasonably priced at £20.40 making it £6.80 per plate. Which to me is really awesome considering the plate prices of other brands.

~Plate 22-01~

Plate 1 is definitely my favourite. Can you see those freaking stunning layering jewels at the top? Yup totally blown away by their cuteness. Plus the possibilities are endless. Again many of the images compliment each other so you can mix & match.

~Plate 22-02~

As for plate 22-02 again it's got plenty of cute layering images this time focusing on florals and peacock feathers. I also am excited to see more texture type images because they are some of my favourites.

~Plate 3-03~

Finally plate number 3. Instead of layering images this time it's all about prints. Lots of gorgeous prints that match but are more than ok to be stand alone patterns. I'm also excited about the large image of the cogs and steampunk style. I can see lots of ways to use just that.

So now onto the swatches. As always I have a video on my YouTube channel showing you how well they preform. Check it out here.

So as you can see they perform amazingly well. Plus the whole variety of images you receive in the collection really gives you your money worth. If you haven't already I'd highly recommend this collection for its vast amount of possibilities.

Well lovely people once again we have reached the end of today's post. As always I really hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping by.
See you next time.

What I Got For Christmas 2017

Hi guys, how was your Christmas day? I really hope you enjoyed it and Santa blessed you this year. I spent today at my older sisters with our family, it was a massive affair with 15 people. We ate, drank and laughed lots. I had such a full belly I missed dessert #gutted. Today I'm sharing with you my what I got for Christmas. While the holiday season is most importantly about family and making lasting memories I'm very fortunate to have a large family who kindly buy me lovely things at this time. Please know this is not me bragging or showing off, I love these videos and blog posts. So with that said let's get into it.

This year my family went crazy and I was totally blown away by their generosity. Plus I treated myself to a few bits and pieces this year also. I split everything into categories so it's a wee bit easier.

Nail items~

First up is a lil polish haul my bf got me. He picked up a few of the Everglaze extended wear polishes. I haven't tried these before but the colours are so pretty that I cannot wait to try them. He also got me 3 floss gloss polishes, an opi matte topcoat and a gorgeous dark red by maybelline. He also added some Debenhams gift cards because he knows it's my favourite store. Seriously proud of that man's taste in polish.

Next we movemove onto skincare. I'm embarrassed to say that I used to neglect my skin. Struggling with mental health can make the simplest tasks daunting. Luckily my mother is a saint and as my carer she has me now in a habit of proper skincare. After my medication made my skin break out now even if sometimes she sits with me I try to do a good routine every night. Anyway I got from my mum and step dad a no7 set and a clinique moisture favourites gift set. A gift to me from me was the rest pictured including the magnitone brush, korean skincare and the ordinary skincare. I got the rest in the black Friday sales.

Next up we have my next obsession. I'm a total weirdo but I love makeup. Even though I never go out these days I enjoy putting on makeup. I guess like nails it's my little release. So My bf gave me money this year as my (big) gift. I used it to add new makeup to my collection. It seems like I was running out of everything. Plus the beauty bay 30% off everything tempted me greatly. So the palettes I got were the Kat von d saint and sinner palette, the juvias place mini masquerade palette, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Aurora palette and the morphe 25b palette. From my mum I got some liquid lipstick, Jefree Star berries on ice, 2 barrym lip kits, my first dose of colors lippie and 2 Kat Von D liquid lipsticks. Finally as another spend from my Christmas money I got a juvias place brush set, a morphe contour and eyeliner brush. Lastly I treated myself to the spectrum sassy sirens collection. It comes in the most beautiful shell case that's going to look fab on my unit and the makeup revolution 12 days of Christmas chest which i scored for £26.

So I've been using the Canon 1200d and it was such a fab dslr but it didn't have a viewfinder so filming with it was a nightmare because I had to rig up a mirror to see what I was doing. Well I decided to upgrade it. I traded in my old camera for money off the new one. I also received the Canon ixus 285 hs as my main gift from my mum and stepdad.

Bath & Body-

Every year the woman in my family make up each other a pamper hamper full of lots of bath, shower And pamper essentials. This one was a gift from my Aunt and she filled it will bubble bath, talc, body lotion and other goodies that will keep me stocked up for a while.

The next hamper I received was from my sister and boy did she spoil me. She got me 4 Dior nail polishes.. seriously I'm in love. She picked stunning shades. To top it off she also added pjs, slippers, face & foot masks, hair products, candles and again I also got some Debenhams gift cards.

Next I got 3 perfumes, lacoste from my mum, gucci from my sister and Michael Kors from my Aunt, both were in the hampers above.

Also in the hamper from my Aunt I got new tartan pjs, glitter slippers foot set and finally microwavable booties. I'm so thankful for everything they bought me I'm overwhelmed with the effort they put in.

Bath & Body Works-

Here in the UK bath & Body Works is rather expensive so when a friend was downsizing her collection from her holiday I jumped at the chance and got lots of goodies for me and my mum. Here's what I got for me. First I got 3 large candles in twisted peppermint, lavender macaron and watermelon lemonade. I also got a few body mists, shower gels and a complete set of the twisted peppermint body products.

Stocking stuffed :0 -

So I'm still a bit shook with my stocking. My mum and stepdad did my stocking this year and how they managed to get everything in it boggles my mind. I tried for the picture and couldn't for the life of me. Anyway inside was an array of goodies from sweets, to dvds, hair products, shower goodies, body mist , lush shower goodies and more.

Gift sets-

The last few beauty related gifts I got from family were these bath and body sets. First from my bf I got the Ted Baker luxury set. From my mum and stepdad I got the soap and glory set and finally from my nieces and nephew I got the Jack Willis English velvet set.

Secret Santa goodies-

Last up we have the items I received from a lovely lady in a fb group I'm part of. It was all a secret until today. She did a seriously epic job of picking things that I like. From Indie polishes, to art products, glitters, lip balm in an adorable little sock and a unicorn chalkboard.

Told you it'd be a long one. I'm so thankful for everything I received. I honestly wasn't expecting to get so much and I'm over the moon. I haven't added the clothes, or other bits related to it like other pjs, slippers, house coat and boots but I'll keep those for tomorrow's post. I really hope you enjoyed today's post. Again wishing you a very merry Christmas and a day filled with lots of joy. Do let me know below what you got from Santa. As always thanks for stopping by. See you next time.
