What I Got For Christmas 2017

Hi guys, how was your Christmas day? I really hope you enjoyed it and Santa blessed you this year. I spent today at my older sisters with our family, it was a massive affair with 15 people. We ate, drank and laughed lots. I had such a full belly I missed dessert #gutted. Today I'm sharing with you my what I got for Christmas. While the holiday season is most importantly about family and making lasting memories I'm very fortunate to have a large family who kindly buy me lovely things at this time. Please know this is not me bragging or showing off, I love these videos and blog posts. So with that said let's get into it.

This year my family went crazy and I was totally blown away by their generosity. Plus I treated myself to a few bits and pieces this year also. I split everything into categories so it's a wee bit easier.

Nail items~

First up is a lil polish haul my bf got me. He picked up a few of the Everglaze extended wear polishes. I haven't tried these before but the colours are so pretty that I cannot wait to try them. He also got me 3 floss gloss polishes, an opi matte topcoat and a gorgeous dark red by maybelline. He also added some Debenhams gift cards because he knows it's my favourite store. Seriously proud of that man's taste in polish.

Next we movemove onto skincare. I'm embarrassed to say that I used to neglect my skin. Struggling with mental health can make the simplest tasks daunting. Luckily my mother is a saint and as my carer she has me now in a habit of proper skincare. After my medication made my skin break out now even if sometimes she sits with me I try to do a good routine every night. Anyway I got from my mum and step dad a no7 set and a clinique moisture favourites gift set. A gift to me from me was the rest pictured including the magnitone brush, korean skincare and the ordinary skincare. I got the rest in the black Friday sales.

Next up we have my next obsession. I'm a total weirdo but I love makeup. Even though I never go out these days I enjoy putting on makeup. I guess like nails it's my little release. So My bf gave me money this year as my (big) gift. I used it to add new makeup to my collection. It seems like I was running out of everything. Plus the beauty bay 30% off everything tempted me greatly. So the palettes I got were the Kat von d saint and sinner palette, the juvias place mini masquerade palette, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Aurora palette and the morphe 25b palette. From my mum I got some liquid lipstick, Jefree Star berries on ice, 2 barrym lip kits, my first dose of colors lippie and 2 Kat Von D liquid lipsticks. Finally as another spend from my Christmas money I got a juvias place brush set, a morphe contour and eyeliner brush. Lastly I treated myself to the spectrum sassy sirens collection. It comes in the most beautiful shell case that's going to look fab on my unit and the makeup revolution 12 days of Christmas chest which i scored for £26.

So I've been using the Canon 1200d and it was such a fab dslr but it didn't have a viewfinder so filming with it was a nightmare because I had to rig up a mirror to see what I was doing. Well I decided to upgrade it. I traded in my old camera for money off the new one. I also received the Canon ixus 285 hs as my main gift from my mum and stepdad.

Bath & Body-

Every year the woman in my family make up each other a pamper hamper full of lots of bath, shower And pamper essentials. This one was a gift from my Aunt and she filled it will bubble bath, talc, body lotion and other goodies that will keep me stocked up for a while.

The next hamper I received was from my sister and boy did she spoil me. She got me 4 Dior nail polishes.. seriously I'm in love. She picked stunning shades. To top it off she also added pjs, slippers, face & foot masks, hair products, candles and again I also got some Debenhams gift cards.

Next I got 3 perfumes, lacoste from my mum, gucci from my sister and Michael Kors from my Aunt, both were in the hampers above.

Also in the hamper from my Aunt I got new tartan pjs, glitter slippers foot set and finally microwavable booties. I'm so thankful for everything they bought me I'm overwhelmed with the effort they put in.

Bath & Body Works-

Here in the UK bath & Body Works is rather expensive so when a friend was downsizing her collection from her holiday I jumped at the chance and got lots of goodies for me and my mum. Here's what I got for me. First I got 3 large candles in twisted peppermint, lavender macaron and watermelon lemonade. I also got a few body mists, shower gels and a complete set of the twisted peppermint body products.

Stocking stuffed :0 -

So I'm still a bit shook with my stocking. My mum and stepdad did my stocking this year and how they managed to get everything in it boggles my mind. I tried for the picture and couldn't for the life of me. Anyway inside was an array of goodies from sweets, to dvds, hair products, shower goodies, body mist , lush shower goodies and more.

Gift sets-

The last few beauty related gifts I got from family were these bath and body sets. First from my bf I got the Ted Baker luxury set. From my mum and stepdad I got the soap and glory set and finally from my nieces and nephew I got the Jack Willis English velvet set.

Secret Santa goodies-

Last up we have the items I received from a lovely lady in a fb group I'm part of. It was all a secret until today. She did a seriously epic job of picking things that I like. From Indie polishes, to art products, glitters, lip balm in an adorable little sock and a unicorn chalkboard.

Told you it'd be a long one. I'm so thankful for everything I received. I honestly wasn't expecting to get so much and I'm over the moon. I haven't added the clothes, or other bits related to it like other pjs, slippers, house coat and boots but I'll keep those for tomorrow's post. I really hope you enjoyed today's post. Again wishing you a very merry Christmas and a day filled with lots of joy. Do let me know below what you got from Santa. As always thanks for stopping by. See you next time.

Christmas Tree oh Christmas tree..

Hi guys, welcome back. Can you believe I'mactually sharing my last Christmas mani of 2017? It seems like just the other day I was doing my first one. I truly love the holiday season but wish it was more than just a day. Maybe like a Christmas week? Today's nails are my take on modern Christmas trees. I saw the same image on a stamping plate by Apipila but my gold stamping polish had mysteriously turned a dark gold, totally puzzled btw. So instead I freehanded mines. While not as perfect as the stamp I loved the results.

For this design I started with a red base of opi short-stop then I topped it with magazine cover mouse from the liquid sands collection. To bling it up a wee bit I added peppermint candy stripes to the pinky using uberchic Christmas 01. For the pointer I added ab swarovski crystals in various sizes.

For the middle and ring fingers I started with a base of be there in a prosecco also by opi. I went with a side French using the glitter dots in gold and amber/red. Again I used various sizes for extra dimension. As for the middle finger I used A-England Excalibur and a detail brush I added a swirly tree while it was wet I added little glitter dots as before for baubles. I finished by adding a lil holo star to the top. I then completed the look by adding a good slick of fast dry topcoat for a glossy finish.

This was a super easy design but looks more glam. I really hope you like them.

I wish you all a very merry Christmas. I hope your day is filled with happiness, fun and lots of holiday cheer. As always thanks for stopping by. I'll see you guys in the next one.

Festive Landscape Nail Art 2 ways..

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog. Please tell me I'm not alone in my utter impatience for Santa to arrive? I love Christmas. It's probably the only day of the year our lot are in the same place. We spend the day drinking, eating, sharing gifts and visiting with loved ones, it's truly a magical day. Although the rush up to drives me slightly potty with my dear mum (bless her) leaves everything to the last minute. So let me show you a couple of landscape designs fit for the special occasion and importantly surprisingly easy. I have 2 to share with you, the first is so simple and definitely beginner friendly and the second is more moderate so will require some patience and a wee bit of a steady hand. So let's get into it.

Design 1 ~ Landscape stamping.

First up we have a lil bit of a bling nail design. Since it has that extra glam it's definitely perfect for Christmas day or even that lit Christmas party you have planned.
For this look my colour choices really reflect night time and a festive glam scene.

For my base I used the ever gorgeous midnight sky by Hj manicure. It's a beautiful deep blue with an almost metallic finish. For the stamping I used 2 new plates by lina nail supplies can't wait for christmas and winter 02. I then stamped on the landscape of the trees with black first then grey, white and holo. Also I addef various snowflake images and festive stripes to the pinky. To add glam I did a gold glitter accent nail with a snowflake charm. I finished with a glossy topcoat. All in all this took around 35 minutes to complete so is great if your in a pinch.

Design 2~ Freehand Winter watercolour.

Next we have the more difficult one. For this look I was inspired by the work of Peggy Wilson. She does the most beautiful watercolour paintings with so much detail. I haven't tried this type of freehand work but her art is so intricate but the details are easy (ISH) to follow.

For this design I started with a white base using my favourite white by Glisten&Glow. I then used a few brushes a tiny detail brush for the intricate work, a striping brush for the details on the tree and pond, finally a larger art brush for the watercolour painting. I also used a watercolour palette that I got from hobby craft for about £5. To start I added a line of muted green at the middle point of the nail for the tree lines in the distance. I mixed blues for the sky to give the appearance of a blue cloudy winter sky. I then did the same for the pond. I also added snowy hills for extra dimension. I paired it with basic stamping on a base of sky blue. Again I finished with a glossy topcoat.

So which one do you guys like most? I must admit my favourite was #2 simply because I stepped out my comfort zone and I was pleasantly surprised by the results. I really hope you enjoyed today's post. As always thanks for stopping by. Also if you aren't already follow for all new blog posts.
See you next time

(SPOILER ALERT) what's inside the essence advent calendar 2017

Hi lovelies, welcome back to my blog. So the next Christmas post I have to share with you guys is seriously exciting. A few weeks ago me and my friend Natalie did a gift swap on YouTube. If your intrested in a peek at everything else she sent the video is on my YouTube channel. In the parcel was this gorgeous advent calendar by essence. When I saw this I was over the moon, it's been a hot minute since I got a calendar so obviously I did some damage opening it. So I'll show you what I got.

The calendar is huge... but oh so pretty. It's designed like a book with such a pretty Christmas living room with a girly touch. Totally cute right? Inside was a huge array of products. The essence site states you get 24 full sized products ranging from makeup, to nail polish, nail art and more. So enough of my yammering and let's dive into everything. It'll probably be a long one so get comfy and enjoy.
