Barrym frosted cupcake swatches

Barrym frosted cupcake collection

Hi guys, welcome back. Today I'm sharing with you swatches of the newly released frosted cupcake collection by Barrym. This collection consists of 4 beautiful polishes in shades I think will be great for winter but also coming into spring. The consistency is really milky but they are still opaque in 2 coats. If you wanted to build up more opacity then adding additional coats won't be a problem. I was also surprised to find that they apply really nice but also dry to a smooth finish. Once I added topcoat the silver flakes really came to life in flashes of pink and green. Let's get into the swatches so you can see the beauty. As always I started each swatch with a base of unt peel off basecoat and when mentioned the topcoat topcoat I used is seche vite. I'll also show you topcoat and no topcoat pics. Let's begin.

Marshmallow-

Barrym frosted cupcake marshmallow.

Marshmallow is the lightest shade. It's a gorgeous light nude. It's opaque in 2 coats. You can definitely build the colour up but I found 2 coats plenty. The crystal flakes are truly mesmerising.

Strawberries And Cream-

Next is the very beautiful strawberries and cream. It's a very light pink with the same crystal flakes. I only really saw flashes of silver in this one. Again opaque in 2 coats.

Blue Velvet-

Next up we have blue velvet. A really light baby blue. This one is my favourite. Simply because the flakes are very noticeable in the various colours. Swatch is 2 coats.

Earl Grey-

Barrym frosted cupcake Earl Grey.

Earl Grey is a light grey with the same silver crystal flakes as the rest. Much like the blue velvet the flakes in this polish really stand out. Depending on the light you can see silver, pink and green. 2 coats again.

Earl Grey no topcoat.

There is a deal on in Boots for these, 2 for £6. I was so glad I picked these up for such a good price. The formula is perfect and the colours are right up my street. You'll definitely be seeing more of these. Well that's it. I really hope you enjoyed today's post. Thanks for stopping by. See you in the next one.

#smearforsmear | cervical cancer awareness mani

Cervical cancer awareness mani.

Hi lovelies, welcome back. Today I'm sharing with you a mani I did for a very important cause. It's also very close to my heart for reasons I'm going to share with you. So to begin my story at 17 I was diagnosed with pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome) which effects the estrogen and progesterone in turn effecting a ladies fertility. So I thought since I can't have children i didn't have to worry about smear tests, because I was ignorant enough to think it only happens to woman who have given birth i was wrong. In early 2015 my older sister (middle of 3) went for a smear test also known as a pap test. She left that doctors office in a completely content mood. Her life drastically changed when she received a letter saying there were irregularities in her cervix. My sister has since beaten cervical cancer after having a hysterectomy. She's been cancer free since. So when I received my letter for my smear I went right away, scary thing is had my sister not already been through the hell she had I'd never of went. They also found irregularities in my cervix. Crazy right? I went back and forth until I was diagnosed with cin level 2 and 3 on various parts of my cervix. Well honestly I shit myself no lie, I thought I was going to die fear consumed my life for the weeks after. After treatment to remove the bad cells i was given a clean bill of health. Our story doesn't end there. I have 2 sisters and all 3 of us have dealt with this. The oldest sister has recently undergone treatment for pre cancerous cells. Life can be tricky but we were very lucky. Others aren't. People die too much because of this scary illness. Smear tests save lives simple as. Not enough women get checked due to excuses like im scared, i dont need it or maybe aren't aware of the seriousness of this. Girls don't be shy that 5 minutes of embarrassment can save your life.

By polishedblissfully.

Amazing ladies all over the world have been smearing their lipstick and filling social media with the tag #smearforsmear to raise awareness. We all have a cervix and we mostly all have social media. So why not combine the cause with the people. Let's stop and share our experience because through awareness maybe we can finally kick cancers ass.

#smearforsmear

This year the very lovely Bethany over at Bnailedtoperfection went through the hell of having to deal with the same. She decided to raise awareness and get the ladies in the nail community to join her to do a nail related awareness mani. I thought it was a brilliant idea and I was more than happy to join.

Starry-eyed for dear Daniel bottle shot.

For my design i went with all opi polishes.  I started with a base of natural basecoat then applied 2 coats of its in the cloud over that I 2 coats of altar ego. Then using mad for madness sake and my nail artisan detail brush I sketched out the shape of lips and when I was happy with the shape I filled it in. With white and black acrylic paint I then added teeth and a shadow of the mouth. Over the lips I added starry-eyed for dear Daniel which is a gorgeous pink glitter. Then the best part of all I smeared the lips which was actually harder than I thought ;)

Smeared nails by polishedblissfully

On the ring finger i applied 2 coats of black onyx once dry using my nail artisan clear cut diamond xl stamper, the lina nail supplies make your mark 01 stamping plate and El-corazon pink, I stamped the dripping heart then stamped over that with the same image but El-corazon rasperry wine. As for the pinky and pointer I used some striping tape to get the negative space look and painted the nail with mad for madness sake. Once everything was dry I added a layer of opi topcoat first to stop smudges before applying matte topcoat to complete the look.

I really hope you enjoyed my post i know it's a bit long but I really feel like this cause needs spoken about more. It's never embarrassing to take care of yourself inside and out. If you are effected by cancer of any kind your not alone. There are many amazing people dedicated to helping you thorough this time. If your not effected directly please don't think never me. Cancer has no favorites. Always get checked.
Please remember to donate even a small amount will make a difference.

Galaxy nails with a kick | what's up nails haul

Galaxy nails by polishedblissfully

Hi lovelies, welcome back to my blog. Today I have a bit of a double whammy for you. I recently purchased a few items from what's up nails so I'll show you what I picked up from there at the end of the post and I'll also show you a design i did using them now. So let's get into it.

So for this mani I decided on a galaxy design. I love the look of these and you really can't go wrong in which colours you opt for. This time I went with a purple flakie polish by polish my life called June Gleam 2016, it's a purple jelly base with gorgeous flakes of various colours. The grey base is cupcake Polish plant parenthood.

Whats up nails stiletto stencils

I used the stiletto stencils from what's up nails on the pinky and middle finger, I then painted over the vinyls with the same polish as the rest of the fingers. I did mini galaxies on the circular shapes it left behind after removing them.

Galaxy macro

As for the galaxies I started with a base of essie grow strong basecoat allowed that to dry. I then mapped out where I wanted the nebulas to be with opi alpine snow and a little piece of torn up sponge. Once it dried I then added the colours on the white so they were opaque over the dark base. I started with Colors by llarowe lotus and with my tweezers and the pieces of sponge I kept lotus to the middle of the nebula and used polish my life plumberry sugar to outline the outside. I used polish my life July Creme to the inside between the purple and lotus. I allowed that to dry and added colours by llarowe Jackie which is a clear based polish with the most beautiful flakes, using the polishes brush I added this on top of lotus. To finish off I added a layer of China glaze fairy dust and added some random dots and stars to bring out the galaxy effect. Then I sealed everything in with seche vite.

I actually love the look of these and you really can do so many variations. Plus those stiletto stencils really made it comes together.

Whats up nails haul

Now onto the haul. So let's be honest I went a little crazy but I feel like there is something new on there every time I visit. I freaking love it. This time I went for more vinyls because I hardly ever use them except for french tips. So I thought I'm going to get a few different types to branch out. So I settled on 9. Here's a closer look at them.

Vinyls, vinyls vinyls

I got the stiletto ones plus hear vinyls, French tips tape, regular chevron, skinny zigzag tape, scale stencils, quatrefoil stencils and mosaic stencils.

Lastly I also got the uberchicbeauty mermaid life plate. I've had my eye on it for ages so just thought what better time to get it. Finally I also picked up a pure color glamour brush. Well that was a long post ;)
If you stayed to the end your awesome and I love you... I really hope you enjoyed today's post. Thanks so much for stopping by. See you next time.

Rose gold floral gel nail design

Hi lovelies, welcome back. Today I'm super excited to share with you a design i did using some chrome powder. I haven't used any products like this before so I was buzzing to finally get the chance to see what all the fuss is about. In my last post i showed you some things I got from indigo nails uk. In this post I'll put them to the test.
Let's get into the details of today's nails.

I used a few of my one step gels from ink London. I started with a base of white gel on the middle finger, nude on the pinky and thumb and finally pink on the ring and pointer fingers then in the led lamp for 20 seconds. Then the same for the second coats on all fingers. For the chrome I used indigo nails metal manix in pink gold. The roses are drawn in the pink gel with my winstonia store brush.
For the half moon i used circle vinyls from what's up nails and the powders.

I am so in love with the powders. I have been trying out different looks. It actually surprised me how easy the process is. I definitely will be adding to my collection. Just look at that? So pretty up close. Here's some extra macro because well I just can't help it ;)

Indigo nails uk haul (hololicious goodies)

Indigo nails uk haul

What's up friends? Welcome back to my blog. So a little fact, I have put off buying nail related items recently because embarrassingly I have only used a few items from my Christmas haul. Well, that went out the window when I stumbled across the indigo nails Instagram page. so much holo its crazy. what can I say I'm a sucker for sparkles. so let's get into what I picked up.

so first up I got some hand cream, mines is in raspberry love. I really liked the style of the bottles. for the price I feel like the presentation of their products is superb. They come in various sizes starting at 30ml and going to 300ml. The cream is really thick and smells fabulous. I think this cream is going to be great for night time.

I also got one of their jojoba based nail serum. As you may know, jojoba oil is excellent for nails and hands. It is full of vitamin E which helps strengthen the natural nail. It's also very close to the skins natural oils so once absorbed it will help your skin look and feel much better.

Now onto the exciting stuff. I really like the mirror paper/ iridescent foil type nail art. My only fault is it can be a bit of a pain to cut it up small enough. So when I saw these I thought bingo.. job done for me. I got mines in the shade violet sparkles. My camera really doesn't do those sparkles any justice.

So the whole reason I went to the site is because of these beautiful powders. They are called metal manix. This one is pink gold. I just love it. The pots are huge so will last a while.

Next is the very beautiful mermaid powder. I got the original mermaid effect but they do stock various colours so you can get different effects.

The next one I got is another metal manix. This shade is in light gold. It was so hard to pick between them but this one stood out to me simply because it's an all round colour that will go with a lot of shades.

This one I'm most excited about, it's their holo powder. I've been talking myself out of getting into the nail powder craze simply because there are many polishes that do the same thing. I kept thinking do I need another product. Why yes, yes I do ;)

I also got this seriously badass powder. Also from the metal manix range but this time the chameleon collection. This one is blue devil. These have more of a chrome look to them so I think the effect is more different than the ones above.

My all time favourite of the bunch is this little beauty. This one is called alien. Apt right? With its fabulous shift on colours, I definitely think so.

Having got totally carried away with the powders I only got 1 gel polish. I know I'm just as shocked as you. It's even a mini. It's a sweet dark grey that I think the holo above is going to look amaze balls. This little dark horse is called Diabolos.

Now onto why I'd highly recommend this company. Nothing pleases me more than good packaging. Everything is top notch in the quality department. I ordered these Tuesday night, I received tracking details and all other relevant information instantly. By 10 am Thursday morning I got a notification to tell me my order would be delivered within the hour. 10.30am I had a knock on my door with my goodies. All packed perfectly, with added little extras such as a thank you note and the cutest little piece of toffee/fudge. Overall rating for Indigo nails UK is a well deserved 10/10.

So let's finish with numbers-

Raspberry love handcream- 100ml = £4.50.
Jojoba nail serum- 2.5ml = £6.00.
Metal manix glitters= £2.50 each.
Snowflakes = £2.00.
Metal manix chameleon- £6.00 each.
Mermaid powder- £2.50
Holo powder- £8.00
Gel mini - £6.00
Applicators - 30p each

All available from here.

UK postage is  £3.

So that's it. Thanks so very much for stopping by. See you in the next one.

crumpets nail tarts:| 26GNAI red & pink

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog. I'm so late in getting this up. Have you ever had a day where nothing works? I literally spent 1 hour picking up my swarovski crystals that had spilled. Anyway apologies for my tardiness. Now onto more fun stuff. Today I bring you another crumpets nail tarts challenge. A fortnightly challenge with a different theme each week. The theme today was red & pink. So I did a bit of a mix. Let's delve into the details.

I started by applying a very light pink onto the middle and ring fingers, a red on the pinky and pointer. I used a beautiful rose water decal that I got in a set from aliexpress. I got like 100 for $2.

For the ring finger i did a gradient first using the medium and dark pink, I then added some chevron vinyls and changed the way I did the gradient to get a scaled look. I still felt a little was missing so I added clear swarovski crystals to the pointer and pinky I used the bluesky decor gel which you dry in an led lights for 20 seconds. Then to finish off I sealed with the artistic topcoat.
