Winter icicle nails for #glamnailschallengejan

Hey guys, welcome back to my blog. Sorry I haven't been posting but I was getting my blog updated. So exciting to finally have it completed. Anyway Today I'm sharing with you my design for today's #glamnailschallengejan on instagram. The prompt for today was icicles so I thought instead of doing the normal chunky ice I'd go for a waterfall look instead.

I started with a base of Cuccio basecoat. I then applied 2 coats of nailberry number 69. It's a gorgeous dark navy creme it's opaque in one coat but I applied 2 to smooth out the first. Then I got out some polishes I thought looked icy ;)
With my roubloff striping brush I added the various polishes in lines at the base of the nail. Starting with the lightest cream and ending with the darkest glitter.

Once it was touch dry I added a generous amount of seche vite fast dry topcoat to finish and give it a glossy finish.

Super simple but honestly looks really nice in the winter shades. In the pic above I added a matte topcoat to see what I preferred. I opted in the end for the glossy finish but I think the matte is great also.
