#26GNAI : blue floral design

Hi lovelies, welcome back. Today I have another crumpets nail tarts challenge for you. The theme today is blue floral. I couldn't be more pleased with a prompt than this one. Since blue is my favourite colour and flowers are my most favourite type of nail art.

I decided to use this prompt to tackle a personal challenge I have set myself. A while back I decided to try more freehand art. Honestly it makes me nervous but I thought I'd go for another shot at one stroke flowers. I recently bought some new acrylic paint and a few new brushes, so I got down to it. Go figure, I was actually pleased with the results and I only had to rub it out and start again twice ;)

So for this look I started with a base of the very stunning pretty serious BSOD. It's a gorgeous blue microglitter in a blue base. I then added a coat of picture polish g'day matte. Hello matte blue glitter...

For the flowers I used white and light blue for the outside petals then dark blue and black for the inside petals and middle of the flower. Then to complete the flowers I outlined the petals with black acrylic paint, then added some yellow dots.

Then to complete the look I added another coat of matte topcoat. I was just pleased they resembled flowers. I really hope you enjoyed today's post. You'll definitely be seeing more freehand stuff. Thanks so much for stopping by. See you next time.

Candy coat pick&mix gel polish | first impression/haul.

Hey lovelies, welcome back. As you may have noticed, I have really caught the gel polish bug. I love it all and want to learn everything. I think in terms of nail art the possibilities are endless. I'm having so much fun practicing different techniques. The brand's are exciting and new to me, so can you imagine how full my baskets are on various sites? Today I have another new brand to me. I've saw lots of stunning designs using candy coat gel polish so I was intrigued. Once I had a look at their site I was hooked.
Candy coat is a subscription service for £16 per month you receive 3 gel polishes and other fun nail goodies. It all comes wrapped in the cutest packaging I've ever seen.

They also offer a pick 'n' mix range which is basically polishes from the subscription service available for individual sale. So it's perfect if you're like me and like to pick your own colours. For this haul I picked up 4. I had 5 including the basecoat but it was sold out so I'll definitely need to add that. These gels retail for £6 for 8ml.

The colours I picked were off white which is a pinky nude, light creme turquoise which speaks for itself really ;) and azure blue which is totally my favourite ever. I also got the no wipe topcoat. Let's have a closer look at the shades.

First up is off white. I only used 1 coat for each swatch but if I was painting my nails I'd apply another definitely.

Next is light creme turquoise. A beautiful light mint green. It's again only 1 coat. For full opacity 2 coats are needed.

Lastly for the gel colours is azure blue. This is simply a beautiful shade. It's so unique. Plus one coat and the nail was covered.

Then you know I had to put the no wipe topcoat to use. So I applied a thin coat to each nail pop then buffed holo powder into them. I love how these turned out. The holo is seriously beautiful and doesn't change the colours of the gel. I'm actually really surprised how much I love them. I can see a rainbow collection in the future.

I really hope you enjoyed today's post. Thanks so much for stopping by. See you next time.

Collective nail haul | my monthly purchases.

Hi lovelies, welcome back to my blog. First let me start by saying thank you so very much for all the amazing support in my last few posts. You guys are the best. Today I have a collection of new products to share with you. I'll break it down to make it easier. I also quickly want to mention this is a large haul but I have been buying these since January. I got a few bits from the US that I had sent to my stackry box. I'll get into what I picked now. Enjoy xx

So I'll start with the items from the US. A few friends on Facebook mentioned stackry to me, it's basically a us post box service that gives you an American address so you can shop in online shops that are us based. So you buy your items fill in your American address and it's posted to there. Then with your personal box number it's packed into your locker. You then consolidate the parcels into one box and post it to your address via dhl. I received my box in 3 days well packed and no issues.

Most exciting is i finally get to try bliss kiss products. Here in the UK we get charged huge amounts of charges and postage is expensive. So I only got a few items to try incase something with stackry went wrong. I really shouldn't have worried but next time I will add a little extra. This time though I got 15ml cuticle oil in the plastic bottle. I also got 2 simply peel latex. Both are 15ml. I cannot wait to see what all the fuss is about ;)

Next i hit up baroness x. Again because I'm a little coward I only got a few bits. I went for some royal cuticle oil, acetone antidote in blueberry cobbler which is a protective liquid you pour into a bottle of acetone. It will help protect your skin and added nutrients so that the acetone doesn't damage the skin. I also got the matte cuticle balm. Which is great for taking pics of nailart as it won't make your fingers look greasy.

Lastly for the American haul I got a fair few mundo de unas stamping polishes. These are seriously the best stamping polish I have ever tried. Super thick and opaque. Plus a little really goes a long way. The Minis are perfect for me as I find they last ages.

Next i bought a few polishes from a couple of ladies on Facebook. I got 4 for your nails only polishes. These are actually the first time I've bought this brand and I'm super excited to try it. I got these fun  £2 each. Next Pipedream polish, I actually love this brand but it can be a bit of a nightmare to find them in stock. So when I saw these for sale i snapped them up. I got 2 in the shades smouldering and carbonado lustre.

Next i got some ink London gels. I needed a white gel polish and the rest just appeared ;)

After falling in love with indigo nails uk i added a few more powders to my collection. I got another mermaid powder this time in black. I cannot wait to see how it works. I also got a few more metal manix this time I got the holo powder, multi chrome and lastly I got another metal manix chameleon in the shade butterfly which is a multi chrome in green, purple and blue. I also got a black arte brilliant gel polish.

Last but definitely not least. I ordered these decals from shop keeki. I got a few valentines based ones plus some charms.

Well that's it. If you made it this far thank you so much. I really hope you enjoyed today's post. Thanks for stopping by. See you next time.

Romantic flowers and negative space| valentines day nails

Hi lovelies, welcome back to my blog. I really hope you are all doing fabulous. Today I have a valentines day design to share with you. I recently did this for the #glamnailschallengefeb on instagram. I really liked it because it is a bit different than what I've done before. Let's get into it.

So I started by applying a cream base to the middle, ring fingers and thumb. Then using various reds I drew some roses using the darkest red as the base then shading and highlighting with the other red and the cream. To add a little extra to the design i filled it in with green leaves and smaller flowers.

For the pointer and pinky I used oval vinyls from what's up nails to section off the bottom of the nail and filled it in with the darkest red. I then used the lightest red to outline the top of the nail for a negative space look. I added a glossy topcoat to all nails to seal in the design.

Then to finish off I added a layer of matte topcoat to all nails. I really liked the matte version better. Something about dark matte red is perfect for valentines day. What do you think? I really hope you enjoyed today's post. Thanks for stopping by. See you next time.

Crumpets nail tarts:| #26GNAI

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog. Today I have another #26GNAI challenge for you. If your not aware it's a fortnightly challenge on Facebook with a different theme each week and lots of various blogs and instagram accounts link up to do a manicure following that theme. Today's prompt is black and white valentines day design. Are you as excited for that as me? Seriously this one was right up my street. I'm actually having the best time doing this challenge. I love the idea of coming together as a bunch of ladies with the same passion. Its such fun. Let's get into today's mani.

So since it was a monochrome colour palette today I thought I'd go for a silhouette look. With classic stripes and the criss cross hearts I really thought it all came together.

For the romantic silhouette I painted the nail with white allowed that to dry. I then stamped the couple from my born pretty store plate using the nail artisan clear cut diamond xl stamper and mundo de unas black stamping polish. I then added topcoat to protect the design.

For the stripe accent nail again I painted the nail with white polish and added fast dry topcoat. Using what's up nails regular line vinyls I sectioned off the nail then painted over it with black glitter polish. Once dry I added topcoat to seal it in then added matte topcoat. To complete the look i added a black polkadot bow from aliexpress.

For the thumb, pointer and pinky I used black as a base left it to dry then using fab ur nails plate , nail artisan clear cut diamond xl stamper and mundo de unas white I stamped this design. I really liked it because it had these little hearts where the lines joined. Once dry I added matte topcoat to all nails.

I really like how this came out. I think it's a bit different from your usual valentines day nails but maybe more grown up or that's what I'm going with anyway ;)
Let's talk products.

Products used-

Floating hearts with a bit bling | valentines day

Hi lovelies, welcome back to my blog.
Today I'm sharing with you my very first valentines day design. I'm going to be honest and say I'm not one for celebrating cupids day but I do love a reason for pink nails ;) so I totally went pink crazy with a bit mermaid sparkles on top. Let's get into get into the details.

I first started by making gradient heart decals on my twinkledt glamour mat. I placed a what's up nails heart stencil on the mat and applied a light pink polish on the top and a darker pink on the bottom, then removing the vinyl right away. While the polish was still wet I sprinkled mermaid powder on top using my roubloff fan brush. I then allowed that to dry completely. Once dry I then added topcoat to the decals and left them to dry for around a half hour.
While that was drying I painted my nails using the same polish as the decals. I painted the thumb and middle finger in mac quick million which is a gorgeous gold glitter with pink hex glitter. Once the first layer dried I sponged on the rest for better opacity. I then painted the ring finger light pink and while the polish was wet I sprinkled mermaid powder on the nail then slightly rubbed it in once I was sure it wouldn't smudge. Lastly I painted the pointer and pinky in the dark pink. I then added fast dry topcoat to all nails.  Once the decals dried I added them to the middle finger and thumb and topcoat to protect the design.

Once the ring finger had dried I used some nail glue to attach this cute love charm that I got from aliexpress. To make sure it didn't budge I used some gel topcoat and filled any space i could see. Then dried in an led lamp for 30 seconds.

To finish and to add a little extra bling I added some circular gold studs to the pointer and pinky. I glued them on with the same technique as above. As you can see its truly a girly design and I love it.

Quick million (gold glitter)
