Rocknail Star vinyls review & demo

☆ pr sample.

Hi lovelies, welcome back.

Today I'm sharing with you my review of the Rocknail Star vinyls. These particular stencils are new to me so I was super excited to try them. I have 2 sets to show you Morocco & Profiles. So let's get into it.

Starting with the profiles this set is of course full of silhouette type images from the gorgeous ones I used of the couple and the heart. It also has stickers with smaller profiles of Victorian type silhouettes plus a few more heads with a more modern feel.

For this design I used a few Virgo Varnish polishes. I then added the profile of the couple and the heart which has 2 sizes so perfect for all nail beds. I then added a glossy topcoat.

Next up we have the Morocco set. This one is seriously gorgeous. I love the designs in this. It's half full with the Moroccan full nail stencils and then the bottom half is comprised of smaller Moroccan style symbols.

Again for this design I used polishes by Virago Varnish. I painted all nails in a nude apart from the ring which is a rose gold glitter. I did a gradient using the same nude and a pink on the middle finger then sponged on the same glitter called rose I finished with a glossy topcoat.

So here's the deets guys, to start with these vinyls aren't as sticky as others I've trieď, I really found this a good thing in the sense I had to smooth it out more but it was far easier to remove. Sometimes I find other vinyls are so sticky that it can pull up the polish below with these the stuck perfectly but not so much it was a nightmare to remove. I also really love that you get various designs that can be perfectly matched for a more in-depth mani. All in I'd highly recommend them they are cheap, work really well and have loads of designs.

Products used ~
DESIGN 1- Profiles.
Virago Varnish
12" single, omit & disco diva.

DESIGN 2- Morocco.
Virago Varnish
Skin, Exposed & Rose.

You can buy these stencils and all polishes mentioned from Nail_Artisan. They retail for £1.95 for the minis to £2.90 for the large.

So that's all for this post. I really hope you enjoyed. As always thanks for stopping by. See you next time.

Luxe spider web Halloween nail art

Luxe spider web design.

Hi lovelies, welcome back.

Today I'm sharing with you another super easy design I did for Halloween. So picture your in a rush but still want banging nails for the lit party. Well my friends I bring you radial gradients and stamping. Did I mention bling? No? Well of course it's there too. I really love Halloween but sometimes I want a bit bling without the 5 hours glued to 1 design. Here's the look I came up with.

For this design I started with a white base on all nails. Once dry I applied 3 floss gloss polishes starting with a small circle of gangsta boo then a slightly larger circle around that with smoke on the nail finally I circled mauve wives to the rest of the sponge. I did 3 coats allowing each coat to get touch dry. I sealed the gradient in with a fast dry topcoat. While the topcoat was tacky I added small pieces of gold foil.

Featuring Floss Gloss & Uberchic

Using uberchicbeauty Halloween plate 03, mundu de unas white stamping polish and my clear jelly stamper I added white webs to all the nails. Then to the thumb and ring finger I stamped a spider from uberchic Halloween 01. Once again I added a layer of fast dry topcoat to seal in my design. Finally To complete the look to the spiders butt I added a red swarovski crystal using my crystal katana and nsi polybond which I got all from crystal parade uk.

All in I think the design took 20 minutes. I find if you prepare all of your supplies and plan a little a design like this is most definitely quick and very doable for everyone of all skill levels.

I really hope you guys like this design. As always if you try it tag me so I can see your awesome creations.

Thank you very much for stopping by. As always you guys are the best.
See you in the next one.

Glitz & Gore: Halloween Sfx Nail Art

You've officially been warned.

Hi there polish fiends,

Welcome back to my blog. Who's excited about October? I sure am! I love Halloween and fall is without a doubt my favourite season. I'm weird so of course the sun and heat causes migraines. So when October rolls around I can enjoy the last little bit of the good weather without needing to stay inside with the fan on.

So since we are almost at Halloween which is just freaking awesome. While alas at my age = 21+ VAT ;) im a bit old now to go trick or treating but i can still buy candy and paint my nails right? So lets talk about why your actually here, by the title you'll already know it's not your average flowers and rainbows today. I really enjoy trying various techniques when it comes to my nail art. This time I tried my hand at sfx makeup. Ok so technically I tried last year but this year I really opted to delve in and see what happens.

Call an ambulance, I've had an accident.

I watched and read many different tutorials and was shocked to learn you don't actually need to have lots of expensive equipment or props to achieve a pretty awesome result. I bought a few kids Halloween paints, blood and other yuckyness last year and probably cost me £20. I was fortunate to have remembered to keep them so I had everything I needed already.

Help me indeed.

To start the Gore nail I added torn up pieces of cotton wool around my finger using liquid latex, I ended up doing a few layers then let it dry. I then cut and roughed up the wool to give the impression of torn skin. I then used foundation, eyeshadow, paints and contour kit to add definition and shadows to the finger. Using a yellow, green, red, black and white body/face paint to add the bruising and damage. For the tendon i used a rolled up piece of wool then secured withliquid latex. Then to complete I added thick blood and black eyeshadow to add the Gore and soreness to the look.

Glitz & Gore sfx nail art.

Now for the Glitz and glamour nails I did a gradient using Ella & Mila nude attitude and glisten & glow wedding gown white for a baby boomer style. For the bling I used swarovski crystals from crystal parade, beads and studs from born pretty store. I finished with a glossy topcoat by seche vite.

Design by PolishedBlissfully

So we've reached the end of today's post. I really hope you like them in a horrible sort of way. I'm very new to sfx makeup and I know it's not totally perfect but I really like the end results. Let me know what you guys think below. Stay tuned for the tutorial for this one and watch out for more Halloween nail art.

See you next time, thanks for reading.
