Nail-artisan haul | uberchicbeauty giveaway

Nail-Artisan haul

Hey polish fiends..

Welcome back to my blog. If I told you polishedblissfully turned one recently you'd probably think I was crazy right? Well it's true. It really feels like yesterday that I spoke to other polish bloggers about actually starting my own blogging journey. As some of you may be aware I suffer from major depression and bipolar type 2. My life can be lonely so blogging and nails are my way of expressing myself and doing something that keeps my mind occupied. I never thought I'd meet so many awesome people. Ladies with such fun personalities and amazing talent. It's you lot that have made this such a great experience. So thank you very much for reading my posts and supporting me in my hobby. Let's now delve into the new goodies.

So today's haul is new goodies by uberchic beauty. I got mines from Nail-Artisan. I must add Alex the owner really makes your shopping experience a blast. She is without a doubt the most lovely woman ever. I love supporting UK small businesses but when your actually treated like a valued customer then it makes it all the more pleasant. Nail-Artisan can be found on Instagram and Facebook. Delivery is rapid and she ships worldwide. So with that said let me tell you what I got. Pictured above is the new stamping plates uberchic beauty has just released. Collection 16, 17, unicorn love which is a single plate and finally the texture-licious 02 plate. I really love uberchic plates, the images are large enough for long nails but still have enough design to make short nails just as pretty.

Most exciting bit is the ubermat has been pimped up big time. They have added seriously cute icons and letters that can be filled with nail polish or glitter to make simple and seriously adorable decals. They also added a ruler so struggling to fit images is a thing of the past. Like the older mat it's stain proof and acetone friendly.

Lastly I also got the glorious tiffany stamper. This is seriously cute, it's got bling, the 2 heads are xl squishy firm. You also get a scraper and a presentation box. I also got a few scrapers. Love them. So that's all for my little haul but stay tuned for something a bit exciting. I explain in the video below.

So as you know I'll be giving away uberchic beauty collection 17 and the new ubermat. These prizes were bought with my own money. I want to give these away to a deserving winner. Read on to find out how you can win.

Aliexpress 3d carving gel review and demo

Hey polish fiends...

Welcome back to my blog. Today I'm sharing a great lil find I bought from aliexpress. I was looking for a cheap 3d gel to practice with because let's be real before embarrassing myself on video I wanted a rough idea of what direction I was doing.  The honest shock I got when I realised not only were these gel pastes bright, easy to work with but they actually stayed true to colour once cured. I tried various designs and tools to find a technique that worked best for me. I found I preferred a silicone tool for smoothing the sides of the gel, a metal cuticle pusher to pick up the pea sized amounts and surprisingly my fingers it was so easier to soften the paste with the heat from my fingers.

I got these gels for £1.41 each. They come in 12 shades from brights to dark purples, reds and green. The only thing required for these is some alcohol and a dotting tool with a needle point tip.

Overall I'm so happy with how they performed. I only bought 7 but have since ordered the rest. I've tried them on gel, regular polish, chromes. I've also painted on them. They dry in 30 seconds in an led or just a bit over a minute in a uv lamp. They kept their shape once I added topcoat. Crystals adhere well to they while wet and dry to a rock hard finish, they won't budge.
The only fault is delivery time, as with most China post they take around a month and a half to arrive. I'm impatient so for me it's a royal pain waiting but the product definitely makes up for it. This is without a doubt worth the money guys. I'd highly recommend.

Check out the demo here...

I really hope you enjoyed today's post. I can't thank you enough for stopping by.  See you next time.

3d floral gel design | diy nail charms

Hey polish fiends..

Welcome back to my blog. Hope all is blissful in your polish world? ;) Today's nail design is so far out of my comfort zone. I thought go big or go home. So I recently bought some 3d gel paste stuff from Aliexpress, I'll be honest and say I only bought it to practice with. The fact I loved it was completely crazy but hell yeah for saving polish money. So with a little frustration on with practicing I went, 5 hours later a crap load of pop sticks I was ok with trying on my human fingers. I was so chuffed with the results. Let's take a closer look.

I started with a mint and lilac theme. I thought spring in my head and just went with it. I really love going into a design with surprise as the idea, well after some awesome glitter popped spring in your head lol. So for the mint and 3d floral nail I used butterfly by gellux and white 3d paste. For the flowers detail I used glitter pieces from a gorgeous mix by nail kandy charms. I have a video on my YouTube channel if you want to check out that haul.

For the diy 3d charm on the ring finger, I started the nail with a lilac base, once dried and the surface shine removed I applied the circle frame to the top half. For the actual jewellery inside that I made from the nail kandy charms glitter mix, this mix seriously is beautiful it's called mojito it's a stunning blend of matte gold, lilac, purple and mint green. It was literally the bases of my whole look. I also used a generic holo glitter I found in the bottom of my everything and more nail art drawer (First world problem). I used the same holo as a glitter accent for the pinky. I was so chuffed with this one. I hope you like them also.

Chameleon gradient nailart| superchic lacquer G-Force Burnish basecoat review!

Hey lovelies. Welcome back to my blog. So it was recently my birthday and I got some new goodies from Rainbow connection uk if your interested in what I picked up I have a full haul up on my YouTube channel now. One of the things on my list was the superchic lacquer G-Force Burnish basecoat. Now I've had my eye on this for a while and it was patiently waiting in my basket. This basecoat is a burnish and bond basecoat with a gummy formula. As it dries it becomes tacky and it's this tacky layer that's perfect for all the pretty chrome, mirror, holo and chameleon powders the nail world is going crazy for. Best part? No gel polish is required. Which means the possibilities are endless and every polish in your collection can be utilised. So now let's see how this baby performs.

For this look I used 3 of the metal manix chameleon powders from Indigo nails in alien, butterfly and blue devil. As with all methods of powder I used an eyeshadow applicator to rub it into the nail. I started with a coat of unt peel off basecoat then applied 2 coats of picture polish black. Once that was completely dry I added a layer of the superchic lacquer basecoat. I found a smooth application of this basecoat was needed too thick or too thin leaves a bumpy texture on the nail and this causes the powder to appear bumpy also. The key is to let the basecoat dry for around 1 minute. You don't want it to be wet or dry because then it won't burnish the powder correctly.  I applied the 3 powders in various areas of the nail making every finger different.
Then to complete the look I added another coat of unt peel off basecoat over the powders. This acts as a barrier between the chameleons and the topcoat as normal topcoat will full the multichrome effect. Once that dried i them added a layer of seche vive for a gel like finish.

While I found if you let the basecoat dry too long it doesn't give an opaque finish. It's finding the balance between wet, just right and too dry. I wholeheartedly think this product is amazing. It does require some practice but the results speak for themselves. It does work. I love that I don't have to fuss with gels on a day when I just want a quick mani. I'd rate this product an easy 8-10. One I'd highly recommend.

So that's all for this post. I really hope you enjoyed. Thanks so much for stopping by.
See you next time.

Diy dragon scale nails | no gel needed

Hey lovelies, welcome back to my blog. I first would like to start by saying I'm sorry I've been a bit Mia. We recently had to put down our beloved Pomeranian neeko. It's only been a week so things are really sad around here. He was such a beautiful little guy and he'll be missed. When I started blogging I wanted to keep it all about nails but life can sometimes get complicated. Now I'm trying to get back to it but it's been a long time. So let's get onto a happier note.

For this super fun design, I started with a black base of cuccio 2am in Hollywood. Once that dried i mixed up a glitter mix of black, gold and teal. The polishes I used to get the base I wanted were glam polish zoom, amethyst dusk, colors by llarowe Jackie and finally graceful polish rainbow explosions. Using a sponge I mixed the glitter and the polish onto the nail in a dabbing motion. Then I added topcoat to all nails. To complete the base i used a piece of nail art net from nail artisan and picture polish pharaoh again dabbing the polish onto the net with a sponge. Then for the scales I stamped using black and white stamping polish, my clear cut stamper also from nail artisan, the image is from uberchic beauty mermaid life plate.

To complete the look I added another coat of topcoat to seal in the design. I was so pleased with the results of this mani. It was one of those that wasn't meant to be a favourite but became one instantly.
That's it for today. Thank you very much for stopping by. I truly hope you enjoyed today's post. See you next time. X

Itsy nails London gel effect | swatches and review.

Hi lovelies, welcome back to my blog. Today I have swatches of some itsy nails London gel effect polishes. I was so lucky to grab mines while the 75% sale was on. I picked up 7 for £1.49 each.

I started every swatch with a coat of unt peel off basecoat and when mentioned the topcoat I used was seche vite. I'll start with the lightest to darkest and show with and without topcoat.

Bohemian gypsy-

First up is bohemian gypsy, a gorgeous pale coral creme. Such a perfect spring shade. Swatch is 2 coats and I got perfect coverage.

Drop red gorgeous-

Next is the very beautiful drop red gorgeous. It's a really bright red. It's also perfectly opaque in 2 thin coats.

Mellow yellow -

Probably my favourite of the bunch, is mellow yellow. It's a pale yellow creme. I was surprised how easy this was to apply. Again only 2 coats for full opacity.

In deep-

In deep is a gorgeous bright sky blue. It's such a fun blue shade which again is going to be perfect for spring/summer. 2 coats for full opacity.

Cosi Ti Amo-

Another beautiful shade, this is cosi ti Amo. It's darker than the last but still a bright colour. This one could possibly be a one coater depending on your application. Swatch is 2 coats.

City girl-

City girl is a light grey with a slight lavender hue. This shade is probably the only shade I think would suit all year long. I loved this one, application is perfect and 2 coats for full opacity.

Cosmic dust-

Last but not least is cosmic dust. It's a navy blue polish but it has a definite grey tint to it. Out of them all this was most streaky but once I added the second coat it covered perfectly. 2 coats for full opacity.

I'm so surprised with these polishes. Application was flawless. They also dried fast and to a smooth finish. Delivery was easy and no hassle. Honestly if I could have added more I would have. Such bright and beautiful polishes. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to you.
For anyone interested in seeing how easy they apply, here's some live swatches.

I really hope you enjoyed today's post. Thank you very much for stopping by. See you next time.

Realistic beige marble | gel and rose gold chrome.

Hi guys, welcome back. Today I have another gel design for you. I'm really getting into gel polish and nailart just now. It's such fun. I love all the different types of art that can be accomplished. For today's look I tried marble nails.

The theme of the #clairestelle8march challenge on Instagram was beige. So I went for a cream gel polish as my base I cured each coat for 30 seconds then applied topcoat. While the topcoat was wet I added thin lines of various gel polish in the colours dark grey and beige. Using high quality isopropyl alcohol and a square brush I blurred the lines to get the marble effect.

For the middle and pointer fingers I applied a hot pink gel polish and cured it for 30 seconds. I then added a layer of topcoat and cured that also. Then I applied the metal manix effect onto the inhibition layer and rubbed it with the applicator to bring out the effect.

I finished with a layer of hybrid gel topcoat. I was so pleased with the results. I'm actually really surprised how easy it was once I had the right products. I truly believe practice makes perfect and while I'm not feeling 100% I'm having lots of fun with the trials ;)

That's it for today. I really hope you enjoyed today's post. Thank you very much for stopping by. See you next time.
